Get set for the week with the Roundhouse Rundown podcast, the fastest five minutes in collegiate promotions. WSU baseball plays host to ECU this weekend. At 9 a.m., Saturday, WSU adds the name of its Hall of Fame coach to Eck Stadium. The ceremony officially names the complex Eck Stadium, Home of Tyler Field at Gene Stephenson Park and the public is invited to the unveiling of the signage. Shocker softball aims for a season sweep of Kansas at 6 p.m. Wednesday in their final home game. All that, plus promotions, ticket specials, Shocker trivia and Shocker history.

[00:00:14] Hello. Welcome to the Roundhouse Rundown, your weekly glance at all things Shocker athletics. Each week we give you a rapid fire listen on events, promotions, ticket deals, a trivia question and a bit of Shocker history. This week's trivia question against which opponent did WSU record the most victories in NCAA baseball under coach Gene Stevenson? A the Blue Jays of Creighton, b Oklahoma State or C Arkansas? As always, we make you stick around to the end for the answer and you'll find out why. It's the Gene Stevenson theme for Trivia Shockers Softball they play their final home game of the season at 6pm Wednesday versus the University of Kansas. Shockers defeated the Jayhawks 73 and Lawrence earlier this season. Wichita State has won the past three meetings in Wichita. This weekend the Shockers play at Memphis to wrap up the regular season. Wichita State's in fifth place in the American Athletic Conference trying to get into that fourth spot, which gives you a first round bye in the conference tournament. AAC Championship play begins next week. WSU baseball is home this weekend against East Carolina. Game times 6pm Friday 2pm Saturday 1pm Sunday. Friday's game is youth league night. Youth 12 and under get a free general admission ticket by wearing their jersey. Saturday it's Bark in the Park, Dogs allowed on Coleman Hill. Saturday is also Autograph Day after the game. Sunday is May 4th. That makes it Star Wars Day at X Stadium, so you are encouraged to dress up like Princess Leia or Han Solo or Darth Vader, whoever your favorite Star wars character is. It's also Hometown Heroes Day. Military, fire, police, EMS and healthcare workers get free admission with an ID at the ticket office. At 9am Saturday, WSU will officially dedicate Gene Stevenson park with the unveiling of signage on X Stadium so it will be X Stadium, home of Tyler Field at Gene Stevenson Park. The public is invited to the ceremony outside the stadium. Stevenson will throw out the first pitch for the 2pm game. Gene Stephenson coached WSU from 1978 to 2013. He led the Shockers to the 1989 NCAA title in addition to six other College World Series appearances. He was inducted into the National College Baseball hall of Fame in 2014. WSU's Track and Field teams are at the TCU Horned Frog Invite on Saturday. The Shocker Open. WSU's final home meet is May 9th. The AAC Outdoor Championship is May 15th through the 17th in Charlotte, North Carolina. Your trivia answer is B. Oklahoma State. The Shockers are 96 against the Cowboys in NCAA play, 76 in regional games and 20 in the college World Series. [00:03:04] Those schools last met in the Stillwater Regional In 2008, a regional won by the Shockers, who advanced from there to the Super Regional at Florida State this week in shocker history. April 30, 2002 Logan Soren hits a three run home run in number 12 Wichita State's 9 to 4 win at number 17 Nebraska, in front of 5,606 fans.
