[00:00:45] Shockers play top seed at Jacksonville State at 8am Friday in Parma Heights, Ohio in the semifinal. Vanderbilt and Arkansas State face off in the other semifinal. That Friday action is a double elimination mega match format. Saturday's championship final is a best of seven Baker match. Those matches are available to watch on NCAA.com WSU baseball plays Kansas State 6:05pm Tuesday at X Stadium. The first 300 fans receive a coupon that they can redeem for a six pack Shocker Cooler. The Shockers are on this road this weekend at UAB. That series begins at 5pm Friday.
[00:01:23] Shocker softball plays Oklahoma State on Wednesday at Wilkins Stadium. A little bonus softball for you at 5:15pm Teams will resume a game suspended by lightning last month in Stillwater. WSU leads that game 8:3 with one out in the bottom of the seventh inning and two Oklahoma State runners on base. The previously scheduled game begins at 6pm and fans are encouraged to wear yellow.
[00:01:50] Shockers are also home this weekend to play UTSA in a series that starts at 6pm Friday. Friday is Bark at the Park. Fans who want to bring their dog must fill out a waiver found@the goshockers.com promotions.
[00:02:03] Saturday's 6pm game is designated all for Alex in honor of former Mississippi State softball player Alex Wilcox, who passed away in 2018 from ovarian cancer.
[00:02:15] Sunday's noon game features a hair tie giveaway and post game bases run.
[00:02:20] WSU's women's tennis team plays Creighton 4pm Friday and Tulsa at 1pm Saturday, both at the Coleman Tennis Complex. It's Senior Day on Saturday and the Shocker Store sunglasses giveaway. WSU is 17. 3 and ranked number 26 nationally. Both shocker tennis teams will head to the American conference championships started April 15 with the men in Tulsa, the women in Houston.
[00:02:47] Your trivia answer is B catcher Charlie O'. Brien. O', Brien, a catcher, earned South Region MVP honors in 1982 in New Orleans when the Shockers defeated Jackson State and 10th ranked New Orleans twice to earn their first trip to the College World Series.
[00:03:04] O' Brien homered in both wins over New Orleans, in addition to catching a pitching staff that allowed one run in three games this week in Shocker history. April 7, 2004 Freshman pitcher Margo Pruis no. Hits North Texas in a 5 nothing victory at Wilkins Stadium. Pruis strikes out nine and walks two. Ashley Lynn's 10th home run ties the program's single season record.
