The Roundhouse Rundown is a weekly glance at all things Shocker athletics. Each week I'm going to give you a rapid fire listen on events coming up, promotions, ticket deals, a trivia question and and a bit of Shocker history. This week's trivia question who holds the Shocker record for most three pointers made in a men's basketball game? Is it A Terrell Benton, B Joe Ragland or C Jason Perez?
[00:00:45] I'll make you stick around to the end for the answer to that trivia question. The Shockers are off this week for Christmas break. Basketball resumes on Sunday with a double header the WSU women open AAAC play at 1pm Sunday against North Texas. Shockers have won three or four games to improve to 6 and 7 this season. North Texas, picked in a tie for second in the AAC poll, is 8 and 4. General admission tickets are $5 for the North Texas game. Shocker men they are fresh off Saturday's 8465 win over Kansas State. They play Friends at 5pm Sunday, WSU's final non conference game. It is Shields Junior Shocker Kids Club Day at Koch Arena. Members receive a free GA ticket. They can participate in a shoot around on the court after the game. All college students, that's any college, can get two free GA tickets with a student ID at the Shocker ticket office. We'll look ahead a little bit since this is a light week. The first week of January puts both Shocker teams on the road for conference play. The WSU men are back home on January 6th, 6pm they play USF, the 2024 AAC Men's Champion.
[00:01:53] The WSU women also play USF. USF is the preseason favorite, recently knocked off number nine Duke.
[00:02:00] They meet on January 8th at Koch Arena. Trivia question is C Jason Perez. Jason made 9 of 12 three pointers on his way to a 33 point outing February 2, 2000 in a 7269 win over Missouri State. This Week in Shocker History. December 22, 1971 Ron Harris scores 20 points in a 6966 overtime victory over Kansas State in Wichita. Terry Benton adds 19 points and 16 rebounds for the Shockers, who improved to five. 1.
