Get set for the week with the Roundhouse Rundown podcast, the fastest five minutes in collegiate promotions. Former Shocker softball player Madyson Espinosa is our guest with the trivia question. WSU’s men’s basketball is on the road for two games this week. The women play FAU at home on Wednesday (6 p.m.) and UTSA on Saturday (1 p.m.). It’s a big week for tennis with home matches for the men and women. All that, plus promotions, ticket specials, Shocker trivia and Shocker history.

[00:00:14] Speaker A: Hello. [00:00:14] Speaker B: Welcome to the Roundhouse Rundown, a weekly glance at all things Shocker athletics. Each week I'll give you a rapid fire listen on events coming up, promotions, ticket deals, a trivia question and a bit of Shocker history. Today's guest with the trivia question is Madison Espinosa. Madison played softball for Wichita State. She is now a graduate assistant with Shocker Sports Properties. Madison, take it away with the trivia question. [00:00:37] Speaker C: All right, this week's trivia question is who leads Wichita State softball and career doubles a Cindy McKinney, b Brittany Fortner or C Laurie Derrick? [00:00:48] Speaker B: As usual, we will make you stick around to the end of the podcast for the answer. The Shocker Women they play two home games this week. On Wednesday, Shockers face Florida Atlantic at 6pm that is National Girls and Women in Sports Day. The first 250 students receive a Shock Block Student Section T shirt. On Saturday, UTSA visits Koch arena at 1pm For Youth Cheer Day. You can participate in the Youth Cheer Clinic and perform with the cheer team at halftime of the game. Wichita State's men's basketball team is on a two game road swing. Shockers play at Charlotte on Tuesday. That's a 6pm game on ESPNU. On Sunday, the Shockers are at South Florida for 1pm tip on ESPN. Both those games, of course, are on 103.7 FM. February 12th is WSU's next home game for the men. That's a 6:30pm tip against UTSA. It is blackout Mental Health Stigma night in partnership with WSU's Suspenders for Hope program. The first 1,000 fans receive a free Suspenders for Hope T shirt. Shocker Softball they're picked first at the American Athletic Conference. They open the season in Phoenix with games against Northern Illinois and Grand Canyon on Friday. The tournament continues into the weekend. Wichita State women's tennis team fresh off defeating Kansas State on Saturday in Manhattan. They play their first home matches this week 1pm Wednesday versus Oral Roberts Kentucky at 5pm Friday. Both of those matches are at the Wichita Country Club. WSU men's tennis team starts a three match homestand on February 7th 1:00pm versus Texas Tech at Genesis Rock Road. Both golf teams start their spring seasons early this week. The men are in Cancun for the Los Vaqueros Invitational. The women play in the Texas State Invitational in Blanco and now. Now here's Madison back with a trivia answer. [00:02:33] Speaker C: Your trivia answer is B. Outfielder Brittany Forner Brittney From Cedar Hills, Missouri hit 58 doubles from 2013 to 2016 on her way to all NVC honors three times and all Midwest region honors twice. She hit 18 doubles in 2015 and 17 in 2016. The top single season marks for the Shockers. Sydney McKinney is fourth on the list with 48, while Lori Derrick has 38, number eight on the list. [00:03:03] Speaker B: Thank you Madison this Week in shocker history February 4, 2006 Paul Miller scores 30 points in a 7163 win over SIU in double overtime at Kocarina. That's one of the big wins that that team racked up on their way to the 2006 Missouri Valley Conference title and the NCAA Tournament. Paul Miller made 11 of 17 shots.
