[00:00:00] Foreign. [00:00:14] Hello, welcome to the Roundhouse Rundown, your weekly glance at all things Shocker athletics. Each week you get a rapid fire listing on events, promotions, ticket deals, trivia question and Shocker History this Week's trivia question WSU's first recorded softball statistics come from the 1977 season. In which season did a Shocker hit double digit home runs for the first time? Is it A 1981, B 1998 or C 2001? Stick around to the end for the answer. Shocker softball is on a 12 game win streak entering the final week of the regular season. Shockers play at Kansas at 5pm Tuesday. [00:00:54] On Thursday, Wichita State starts a series versus Memphis at 6pm at Wilkins Stadium. WSU is tied for USF and first place in the American the Bulls play third place North Texas this weekend in Tampa. Thursday is Fan Appreciation Night at Wilkins Stadium. Friday, that's a 6pm game is senior send off and Saturday's noon game is Alumni Celebration Day. The Shockers have wrapped up one of the top two seeds in the American Conference Championship, which is next week at ecu. That means W MSU earns a bye into the semifinals and will not play until Friday, May 8. Needing two wins for the tournament title, USF holds the tiebreaker over the Shockers by virtue of a series win earlier this year. [00:01:39] The Bulls would claim the top seed should the two teams finish with the same regular season record. [00:01:45] WSU baseball is coming off a series win versus Rice. They are in fourth place, two games behind the leaders in American Conference play. [00:01:54] Number 11 Kansas visits X Stadium for a 6pm Tuesday game. It is Mike Kennedy Night with the first 300 fans receiving the third of the Mike Kennedy trading card series. The pregame tribute for the voice of the shockers starts at 5:45. [00:02:10] WSU plays at UTSA, which is tied for first with ECU and UAB in a series starting at 6pm Friday. Next home game for WSU baseball May 8 versus FAU. Those are the final home games of the season. [00:02:26] Shocker Track and field they are closing in on their championship season. Shockers compete in Lawrence this weekend in the Rock Chalk Classic. On May 8, WSU hosts the Shocker Open, its first competition on the new track at University Stadium. The American Conference outdoor championship is May 14th through the 16th. That's in Denton, Texas. [00:02:48] Your trivia answer is C. Patty Olson hit 10 home runs in 2001 to lead the Shockers and set the program record where the game has changed significantly over the years. From 1977-92, the WSU record was six this season. Osha Moore has 20 home runs. She joins Addison Barnard and Madison Perrigan, both former shockers, with 20 or more in a season. [00:03:13] This week in Shocker history. April 28, 1994 Former Shocker track and field athlete Denise Steenstra defends her heptathlon title at the Drake relays.
