Get set for the week with the Roundhouse Rundown podcast, the fastest five minutes in collegiate promotions. Shocker men’s basketball plays at Oklahoma State at 8 p.m. Tuesday (March 18) on ESPN2 in the NIT. WSU baseball and softball are on the road this weekend. Shocker softball is back at Wilkins Stadium on March 25 against Central Arkansas and March 26 vs. Oklahoma. WSU baseball is back home vs. UAB in a series beginning March 28. All that, plus promotions, ticket specials, Shocker trivia and Shocker history.

[00:00:15] Hello. Welcome to the Roundhouse Rundown, your weekly glance at all things Shocker athletics. Each week we give you a rapid fire listen on events coming up, promotions, ticket deals, a trivia question and a bit of Shocker history. This Week's trivia question Three Shockers have earned a spot on the NIT's all tournament team, two of those in 2011, one in 2019. Who are those Shockers? As always, I'm going to make you stick around to the end for the answer. [00:00:42] WSU men's basketball team they're in the nit for the 14th time and the first since a 2019 run to the semifinals. The Shockers play at Oklahoma State at 8pm Tuesday. That's on ESPN2. Plenty of tickets available at Gallagher IBA arena and of course you can listen to Bob Hull, Mike Kennedy and Dave Dahl on 103.7 FM. Keyn Shocker Baseball they are on the road. They open American Athletic Conference play at Tulane. Shocker softball is on a roll. They're coming off a win at Kansas in a series win over North Texas. They play at utsa. Both of those series begin on Friday. Shocker softball returns to Wilkins Stadium on March 25th to play Central Arkansas. March 26th they play Oklahoma 2 for 1. Tickets are available for the Central Arkansas game. Shocker baseball is back home versus UAB in a series that begins March 28th. The March 29th game. That's the Saturday game of the series. That's Autograph day. The first 250 fans get shocker baseball trading cards. The bowling Shockers open Conference USA tournament play on March 19th in Harahan, Louisiana. WSU is seated fourth in the field behind Jacksonville State, Youngstown State and Vanderbilt. The big event this week is the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament first and second rounds at Interest Bank Arena. Wichita State is the lead sponsor of this event. You'll see lots of Shocker staff and students helping to organize and run that event. Even if you don't have tickets, the downtown atmosphere should be fantastic and there will be many things for fans to do around the arena. Games are Thursday and Saturday. That's four games on Thursday, two on Saturday. Wichita State has brought the NCAA men's tournament to Wichita 11 times dating back to 1956. Twice the NCAA Women's Tournament has played downtown at Interest Bank Arena. Here's your trivia answer. Graham Hatch, Garrett Stutz and Marcus McDuffie are the three Shockers on the NIT's all tournament teams. Hatch was tournament MVP after 2011 when the Shockers won the title Garrett Stutz joined him on the all Tournament team. The Shockers defeated Nebraska, Virginia Tech, College of Charleston, Washington State and Alabama to win that title in 2019. Marcus McDuffie earned a spot on the team after the Shocker advance to the NIT semifinals with road wins over Furman, Clemson and Indiana this week in shocker history. March 18, 2006 at Greensboro Coliseum, Wichita State upsets number two seed Tennessee 8073 to reach the Sweet 16 of the NCAA tournament. PJ Cuznard 20 points, nine rebounds and five assists for the Shockers. Thank you for listening.
