Get set for the week with the Roundhouse Rundown podcast, the fastest five minutes in collegiate promotions. Basketball season for the WSU men starts vs. UNC Asheville at 6:30 p.m. tonight (Nov. 4). The Shockers also play Prairie View A&M on Saturday (6 p.m.) and fans are encouraged to donate a non-perishable food item to the Shocksgiving Canned Food Drive. The WSU women face Northwestern State at 6 p.m., Thursday. Shocker volleyball, coming off a 2-0 road trip, play ECU (7 p.m., Friday) and Charlotte (1 p.m., Sunday) at Koch Arena. [00:00:14] Hello. Welcome to the Roundhouse Rundown, your weekly glance at all things Shocker athletics. Each week we give you a quick listen on events, promotions, ticket deals, Trivia question and we wrap it up with Shocker history. This week's Trivia question who is the most recent Shocker to lead the conference in scoring in men's basketball? Is it A Tyson Etienne, B Maurice Evans or C Jason Perez? [00:00:37] Stick around to the end and we will hit you with the answer. Shocker Men's basketball opens this season versus UNC Asheville at 6:30pm Tuesday. That's tonight. On the date of this podcast Release, the first 500 students get the official T shirt of this year's student section. The Shockers play Prayer View A and M at 6pm Saturday also at Koch Arena. Bring a non perishable food item to support the shocks giving canned food. Drive the Wichita State women's team. They won their opener on Monday. They are back in action Thursday. They played Northwestern State at 6pm it is thirsty Thursday with discounted drinks at the concession stands at Koch Arena. Shocker Volleyball they're coming off a 20 weekend in Florida that included a win over then first place South Florida. They are at Kocarina to play ECU 7pm Friday. It's the start of Hometown Heroes Weekend at Koch Arena. Military police, fire, EMS and health care workers can get a free ticket by presenting your employee ID or badge at the ticket office. That deal is also good for Sunday's 1pm match versus Charlotte. Also Sunday, members of the Shields Junior Shocker Club are invited on the floor for serving after the match. [00:01:52] Shocker Softball they wrap up their fall schedule with a 2pm game on Wednesday versus Murray State and then they're back in action 4pm Thursday versus Seminole State. [00:02:04] Your trivia B Jason Perez Perez averaged 20.2 points to lead the Missouri Valley Conference in scoring in 2000. That's one season after Maurice Evans led the MVC at 19.9 points. In all, eight Shockers led the MVC in scoring, starting with Cleo Littleton. He averaged 18.3 points in the 1953 season. [00:02:27] This Week in Shocker History. November 5, 2010 WSU rallies from a four point deficit in the fifth set to defeat C.R. creighton. Jackie Church moves to libero during the match and records 20 digs. Emily Adney has 16 kills and 24 digs. Shockers trail 9 to 5 in the fifth set before winning 15 13. [00:02:48] Two kills by Sarah McGee ended the match for the Shockers.
