[00:00:15] Hello. Welcome to the Roundhouse Rundown, a weekly glance at all things Shocker athletics. Each week I'm going to give you a rapid fire listen on events coming up, promotions and ticket deals, a trivia question and a bit of Shocker history. This week's trivia who is the most recent Shocker to record a triple double? Is it A Fred Van Vliet, B Ron Baker or C Craig Porter Jr. [00:00:35] Stick around to the end of the podcast for the answer to that trivia question. It is finals week at Wichita State, so both the basketball teams are off until the weekend. Shocker men they are 8 and 1. They play at DePaul on noon Saturday. That game is televised on FS1. Those two teams do have some recent history. The Shockers defeated the Blue Demons in 2012 in Cancun and 2013 in Kansas City. Shockers are back home to play Kansas City. They may know them as UMKC the Kangaroos. That game is December 17th and it is Aviation Night at the Arena. The Home for the Holidays ticket special means all college students can receive a free GA ticket with a valid student ID presented at the Shocker Ticket Office. And yes, that is all college students. [00:01:19] On December 21st, Kansas State visits Coke arena for a 6pm game. The the Shocker women are 4 and 6. After Sunday's win over Western Kentucky, they travel to California for their next two games. They play Loyola Marymount on Sunday and Cal State Bakersfield on December 18th. Shockers are next home. On December 29th, they open American Athletic Conference play against North Texas. That is a 1pm tip off. General admission tickets are $5 for that north Texas women's basketball game. Your trivia answer is c. Craig Porter Jr. He is now with the Cleveland Cavaliers. He had 15 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assist in a 2023 game at Tulane this week in Shocker history. Let's connect it Back to that DePaul series on December 9, 1978. Wichita State gives coach Gene Smithson his first victory with a 9592 win over DePaul at Levitt Arena. Shockers trail 9280 with 256 to play. Cheese Johnson scores nine of WSU's points and the Shockers go on a 150 run to end the game. Cheese finishes with 27 points and 13 rebounds.
