We hit you with a trivia question and a bit of Shocker history. This week's trivia question who's the only Shocker baseball pitcher to earn conference pitcher of the Year honors twice? A. As always, we make you listen through the whole thing for the answer Wichita State men's basketball closes out its regular season at home versus Florida Atlantic at 3pm Saturday. That's on ESPNU. [00:00:55] Lots at stake this week for the Shock are not out of the race to share the American Conference title, although that would require USF to lose twice. Wichita State can finish second with a win on Saturday, and it can fall no lower than third. The American tournament begins March 11 in Birmingham, Alabama. Wichita State will play either March 13 in the quarterfinals or March 14 in the semifinals.
[00:01:22] Wichita State women play North Texas at 6pm Tuesday. It is also Senior Night for them.
[00:01:28] Shocker baseball, off to a9.3 start, plays West Georgia in a four game series, starts at 3:05pm Friday at X Stadium. Saturday's doubleheader begins at 1:05pm Series concludes on Sunday at 12:05pm Shocker Softball opened its home schedule 6pm Wednesday versus the University of Kansas. It is scheduled poster giveaway night. The Shockers open American play this weekend at East Carolina. WSU's first home conference weekend is March 13th through the 15th versus UAB.
[00:02:02] Wichita State men's tennis is coming off a win over Nebraska 5 to 2 on Sunday. They are back home this Sunday. They face Oklahoma State 11am at the Coleman Tennis Complex. Fans can enjoy free coffee and donuts before the tennis Shocker bowling is at the Music City Classic in Smyrna, Tennessee, starting Friday as they prepare for their postseason competition. [00:02:26] Wichita State volleyball announced its spring schedule. The Shockers play Kansas at 10am on March 28 at Kocarina. The black and yellow scrimmage is at 5pm on April 3. WSU will also play in tournaments in Kansas City and Nebraska.

[00:02:46] Mike earned MVC Pitcher of the year honors in 2004 and 2005. Greg Brummett won it in 1989, Darren Dreifert in 1993. They earned the honor once, as did nine other Shockers.
[00:03:00] Dreifert earned freshman All American honors in 1991 from Baseball America and Collegiate Baseball and First Team All Americans in 1992 from those two sources who beat him out for Missouri Valley Conference Pitcher of the Year. Well, it was teammate Kenny Steenstra in 1991 and Creighton's Alan Bennis in 1992.
[00:03:21] This Week in Shocker History March 2, 1963 Dave Stallworth scores 28 points in a 7372 win over 3 Loyola in front of 19,000 fans at Chicago Stadium. Nate Bowman has 11 points and 13 rebounds for WU, ranked number eight.
[00:03:42] That was Loyola's last loss of the season. The Ramblers would go on to take the 1963 NCAA title, defeating Cincinnati. The Shockers played in the NIT that season.
