There's a trivia question and we wrap it up with Shocker history. This week's trivia question which Shocker volleyball player leads the program in career double doubles and kills and digs? [00:01:18] October 15th is the last day to purchase tickets for Friday's Tip off luncheon. Basketball coaches Paul Mills and Terry Nooner will speak and introduce their teams. Tickets are 30 doll.
[00:01:31] Doors open at 11:45. Shocker Softball continues its fall schedule at 6pm Thursday at Oklahoma State. Shockers are at Wilkins Stadium to host Southern Nazarene October 23rd. That's a 6pm start. Shocker baseball plays at Dallas Baptist on Saturday at 1pm in a scrimmage. Shocker Bowling starts its 2025 schedule 2025, 2026 schedule with an exhibition match against Sam Houston State on Friday at Shocker Lanes.
[00:02:01] On Saturday and Sunday. WSU competes in the Mid State Championships at Bolero Northridge. Shockers start the season ranked number five nationally. Wichita State Cross country starting the championship portion of its schedule on Friday at the Pre National Invitational in Columbia, Missouri. That's the site of the NCAA championships in late November. The American conference championships are November 1st in Concord, North Carolina. Your trivia answer is a Jan Malloy Malloy played from 1997 to 2000. She recorded 63 match with double digit kills and digs. Emily Stockman, who played from 2007 to 2009, is second with 60. Malloy is also WSU's career leader with 1657 kills and 1892 points. She ranked sixth with 1457 digs. She ranked first when her career ended just before the Libero era started.
[00:02:57] Malloy earned all Missouri Valley Conference honors three times this Week in Shocker history. October 15, 1960 Nelson Toburin blocks a punt and Bob Sweezy returns at 25 yards for a touchdown in Wichita's 25 to 8 win at Cincinnati in front of 19,000 fans on homecoming at Nippert Stadium.
