Shockers volleyball returns to Koch Arena to play Tulane at 7 p.m. Friday on Ladies Night. WSU faces North Texas on Sunday (1 p.m.) for a Halloween special. WSU softball scrimmages Wednesday and Saturday at Wilkins Stadium. Basketball season is coming. All that, plus promotions, ticket specials, Shocker trivia and Shocker history.

[00:00:14] Hello. Welcome to the Roundhouse Rundown, your weekly glance at all things Shocker athletics. Each week we give you a rapid fire listen on events, promotions and ticket deals. There's a trivia question and a bit of Shocker history. This this week's trivia question who is the most recent Shocker selected in the first round of the NBA draft? Is it A Ron Baker, b Landry Shamut or C Cleanthony Early? Stick around to the end for the answer. Shocker Volleyball they're back at home Charles Koch Arena. They play Tulane on Friday at 7pm it's ladies night with free Women in Sports T shirts available for the first 300 fans. The Shockers play North Texas at 1pm Sunday. That's the monster match with trick or treat bags for the first 150 children and post match trick or treats. [00:01:01] All youth club and high school teams can get free admission to the Sunday match RSVP by Wednesday. [00:01:08] It's getting close to basketball season. The Shocker women play Newman University in an exhibition game at 6pm on Oct. 29. [00:01:17] The women's opener is 6pm Nov. 3 vs. Lincoln University. [00:01:22] The men's team opens the season vs. UNC Asheville at 6:30pm on Nov. 4. [00:01:28] Shocker softball continues its fall schedule vs. Southern Nazarene at 6pm on Wednesday. [00:01:36] Saturday at 2pm Murray State College visits Wilkins Stadium. Shocker Baseball begins its five game fall series Oct. 28 at 6pm Shocker Men's Cross country team prepared for its championship meets with an outstanding performance in the Pre National Invitational in Columbia, Missouri at site of the NCAA Championships in late November. [00:01:57] Last week The Shockers finished seventh in the 32 team pre national field ahead of number 22 Arkansas, in addition to Purdue, Florida, Wyoming, Kentucky, Kansas, Tennessee, Kansas State and several others. [00:02:09] The American conference championships are November 1st in Concord, North Carolina. Here's your trivia answer. It's B. Landry Shamut. The Philadelphia 76ers selected Landry with the 26th pick of the first round in 2018. [00:02:24] He joins Dave Stallworth, Nate Bowman, Cliff Levingston, Antoine cauld and Xavier McDaniel as first round shockers Ron Baker was not drafted. Cleanthony early went in the second round to the New York Knicks in 2014. [00:02:39] This Week in Shocker History October 22, 2016 Another shocker who was not drafted in the NBA but went on to an excellent career, Fred VanVleet. Fred survives cut day to earn a spot on the Toronto roster. VanVleet averages 9.0 points and 2.66 assists in five exhibition games for the Raptors to make his way onto that roster, and ultimately, he would win an NBA title with the team.
