Get set for the week with the Roundhouse Rundown podcast, the fastest five minutes in collegiate promotions. Tuesday is full of Shocker events, headlined by an NIT game vs. Wyoming at Koch Arena. Baseball and softball play at home all week. Nebraska visits Eck Stadium for a mid-week series before Charlotte comes to town. Softball plays South Dakota State in a Tuesday doubleheader. [00:00:14] Hello, welcome to the Roundhouse Rundown, your weekly glance at all things Shocker athletics. Each week we give you a rapid fire listen on events, promotions and ticket deals. There's a trivia question and a bit of Shocker history. [00:00:26] This week's trivia question who holds the Wichita State record for most points in an NIT victory? [00:00:33] Is it A Jamar Howard, B Cliff Levingston OR C Marcus McDuffie? As always, stick around to the end for the answer. Wichita State returns to the National Invitation tournament for a second straight season and a 15th overall when it meets Wyoming 6pm Tuesday at Kokarina. That game is on ESPNU and Keyn FM 103.7. [00:00:56] Shockers are the third seed in the region. Tulsa is the top seed. The winner of the Wichita State Wyoming game advances to play the winner of Tuesday's Davidson at Oklahoma State matchup. [00:01:08] Shocker baseball is home this week. They play Nebraska 6pm Tuesday and 2pm Wednesday. [00:01:14] The first 300 fans on Tuesday get a St. Patrick's Day silicone cup courtesy of AR Roofing. [00:01:22] A ticket from Tuesday's game gets you a free ticket to Wednesday's game versus Nebraska. On Friday, Wichita State starts American Conference play versus Charlotte at X Stadium. Game times are 6:05pm Friday, 2:05pm Saturday and 12:05pm Sunday. Friday's promotion is a special one. It's the first edition of the Mike Kennedy Trading Card Series. These cards commemorate some of Mike's most memorable calls with the baseball team. First 300 fans in the door get the first edition on Saturday. It's more trading cards this time. The Shocker pitchers are featured. [00:01:59] Shocker softball they play South Dakota State in a double header that starts at 2pm Tuesday at Wilkins Stadium. The first 250 fans on Tuesday get a St. Patrick's Day silicone cup, courtesy of AR Roofing. The Shockers are coming off a weekend sweep of UAB play for Atlantic at home this weekend. Game times are 6pm Friday, 4pm Saturday and noon Monday on Sunday. [00:02:23] Saturday is Taylor Swift Night and the Shocker Store Pop Up Shop is open. [00:02:28] Sunday is Country Music Night with Coke cowboy hats to the first 500 fans. You can run the bases after that Sunday game. [00:02:36] WSU women's bowling opens the Conference USA championship Wednesday. That's in Harahan, Louisiana. Your trivia answer is a Jamar Howard. Howard scored 22 points in an 8481 win over Western Kentucky at Koch arena in the 2005 NIT. The most points by a shot in any NIT game is 24 Warren Armstrong in 1966, Cliff Levingston in 1980 and Xavier Bell in 2025. [00:03:03] This Week in Shocker History March 17, 2013 Wichita State Women's basketball team wins its first MVC tournament with a 6965 win over Illinois State and St. Charles, Missouri. Alex Harden is named tournament Most Valuable player after scoring 19 points in the final. That Shocker team finished 26:10 and made the program's first NCAA tournamen tournament appearance, losing to Texas A and M. [00:03:29] Thank you for listening.
